What a converted sublimation printer is

Each printer is a brand new Epson EcoTank that we fill with sublimation ink instead of standard Epson ink. It prints your design onto sublimation paper, and a heat press then transfers it into polyester fabric or a coated blank. Our guide to the difference between sublimation printers and normal printers explains how the two work.

Every model is sold two ways. Pre-Converted: we fill the tanks and set the printer up, and instructions for the computer settings are included. Bundled: an untouched printer with the ink, paper and cables packed separately, for you to convert yourself.

  • Sublimation ink for every tank, 70ml or 100ml per colour depending on the model

  • A UK 3-pin power cable
  • A 1m USB B to USB A printer cable

The ET-2810 and ET-2862 bundles also include ICC profiles. Printers are not available for next day delivery.

How to choose

Start with the largest design you plan to print. An A4 sheet covers mug wraps, phone cases, coasters, keyrings and most single garment prints. For larger transfers on t-shirts, tote bags and other big blanks, an A3 sheet is twice the area of A4. The two A3 models are also listed on their own in A3 sublimation printers.

Among the A4 printers, the differences are whether the printer scans, the size of the paper tray and how much ink arrives in the tanks. The models supplied with 100ml per colour start with more ink. Ink and paper

When the bundled ink runs low, refill from our sublimation ink range of 70ml, 100ml and 1000ml bottles. Sublimation paper is sold in packs of 100 sheets in A4, A3, A5 and mug size.

FAQs

Do the printers come with design software?

No. There is no sublimation-specific software, so any design program can be used. Our printer FAQ recommends Adobe Photoshop.

Can I convert the printer myself?

Yes. Choose the Bundled option and the printer arrives untouched, with the ink, paper and cables packed separately.

Which models print A3?

The Epson EcoTank ET-8550 and ET-16150.

Why might I receive a different model number?

Epson has discontinued the ET-2810, so it may be upgraded to the ET-2862. The ET-2850 and ET-2950 may be sent as the ET-2951, and the ET-4810 as the ET-4800, depending on stock.

Can I get a printer next day?

No. Printers are not available for next day delivery.
